F1 Driver Pierre Gasly To Wear Fan Designed, Binance-Inspired Helmet At Abu Dhabi GP
Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly will wear a brand new, fan-designed helmet for the 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, being held this weekend, December 11th to 14th. The helmet, which features a design inspired by global cryptocurrency exchange Binance, was created by Vivien Lavoie, from Montreal, Canada as part of a competition sponsored by Binance and held earlier this month.
As part of the Binance and Pierre Gasly helmet design competition, Vivien’s submission was chosen as the winner out of hundreds of entries from Binance users. His artwork features a modern and minimalist design that incorporates elements of Binance’s yellow and black branding. The helmet also features a yellow sun, which represents both Binance and Abu Dhabi, where the race is being held.
“The sun is a key graphic element in the design, and that matches Pierre Gasly’s ambition to shine at the 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!” said Vivien.
The competition was run to coincide with the launch of Binance’s new fiat gateway in Abu Dhabi, which allows users in the region to purchase crypto directly with UAE dirhams (AED).
As winner of the competition, Vivien not only gets to see his artwork proudly worn by Gasly this weekend, but will also receive 25,000 BNB tokens, and a trip to Abu Dhabi for the race.
The competition was the first of its kind for Binance, and part of the platform’s larger mission to bring digital assets to the mainstream and provide access to global finances for everyone. Binance hopes its highly-anticipated sponsor of Pierre Gasly will support even more ambitious crypto-sporting projects in the near future.
