Israeli president defends airstrikes in Gaza, killing Hamas operatives: ‘We are fighting terror’
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin has defended the airstrikes in Gaza following the killing of two Hamas operatives. Rivlin said, “We are in the midst of a continuous struggle against terror that will continue until we reach relief from this threat,” adding “We must not waver before terror, but will not hesitate to act to protect our nation.” He added that while Israel always tried to prevent civilian causalities, it had an obligation to defend itself and its citizens.
