Bity is ending its crypto services in Brazil, but its two customer groups have different destinations and deadlines. Bitybank users can opt to move to Mercado Bitcoin, while BityPreço users are being offered an integrated migration to Bipa.

Bity reports about 850,000 users across its business and more than R$1 billion under custody. The figure should not be read as 850,000 accounts moving automatically to Mercado Bitcoin because both routes require customer action and BityPreço has a separate arrangement with Bipa.

Bitybank Users Have Until November 25

Bitybank customers have until November 25 to withdraw, sell or migrate their holdings. Those choosing Mercado Bitcoin receive a six-digit code through Bity’s official channels and use it to connect the migration with a new or existing Mercado Bitcoin account.

The transfer is optional. Mercado Bitcoin describes the movement of balances as automatic and free once the user enters the code and completes its registration checks, but nothing moves merely because Bity is closing.

Mercado Bitcoin’s welcome benefits for participating users remain available until November 29. That incentive period does not extend Bitybank’s November 25 deadline for withdrawing, selling or starting a migration.

Roberto Dagnoni, Chairman and CEO of Mercado Bitcoin, said: “Ser o parceiro escolhido pela Bity é reflexo de 13 anos construindo uma plataforma regulada, com governança e compliance no centro do negócio.” Mercado Bitcoin says it has 4.5 million clients.

BityPreço Users Are Directed To Bipa

BityPreço has a separate timetable and integrated route. Its customers have until November 27 to withdraw crypto, transfer it elsewhere or accept migration to Bipa through the BityPreço app.

No assets or personal data are transferred to Bipa without consent and completion of the required registration and security steps. After a customer accepts the migration, eligible balances can be sent automatically through the integration.

Cryptoassets left at BityPreço after November 27 will be converted into reais. Customers then have until April 2, 2027 to withdraw the cash. Bipa says the eligible assets and any asset-specific procedures will be communicated through the companies’ official channels.

Users Can Choose Another Destination

Neither route is compulsory. Customers may use Mercado Bitcoin or Bipa, transfer supported crypto to another exchange, move it to a self-custody wallet, or sell and withdraw reais before the relevant cut-off.

Before selecting a destination, users should check which assets and blockchain networks it supports, withdrawal fees, Brazilian regulatory status and whether transaction histories can be exported. Sending an asset through an unsupported network can make it inaccessible even when both platforms list the same token.

Bitybank users should follow the November 25 deadline. BityPreço users should follow November 27 for crypto and April 2, 2027 for reais. Treating the products as one platform could cause a customer to follow the wrong instructions or miss the earlier date.

The Banking Cut-Off Has Moved To November 6

Article 91 of Resolution BCB 520, as amended by Resolution BCB 589, bars banks, payment institutions and other entities authorised by the central bank from facilitating crypto operations with unauthorised providers from November 6. An earlier FinanceFeeds report cited the former October 30 date, which the amendment moved by one week.

Resolution 589 also removed the previous wording that protected providers while their authorisation applications were being processed. Being in the central bank’s queue therefore no longer keeps a provider’s banking access protected after November 6 if it has not received authorisation.

That change helps explain the sector’s current time pressure, but Bity did not say regulation caused its exit. Exame and other Brazilian publications connected the closure with the new rules; the attribution belongs to those reports rather than the company.

Brazil’s Exchange Consolidation Is Accelerating

Bity follows Coinext, Digitra.com and NovaDAX in ending all or part of their Brazilian retail exchange operations during 2026. Bitso is also transferring its direct Brazilian retail service to Mercado Bitcoin.

Digitra.com attributed its departure to the central bank requirements and affected about 200,000 clients. Bity’s reported base is more than four times that size, although its split between Bitybank and BityPreço has not been disclosed.

The immediate step is to identify which Bity product holds the balance. Bitybank users must act by November 25, while BityPreço users have until November 27 to avoid automatic conversion and until April 2, 2027 to withdraw converted reais.
