California ‘refugees’ to bash Newsom at DeSantis press conference ahead of ‘Hannity’ debate
A group of California residents are set to appear at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ press conference Monday to share their experiences of fleeing California for the Sunshine State. The group — which goes by the name California Refugee — is set to advocate for their cause ahead of a debate between Gov. DeSantis and Sean Hannity that will take place Monday evening.
The California Refugee movement was established in early 2020, with the intent of helping to “facilitate the movement of people from California to Florida who are looking to escape high taxes, a suffocating regulatory environment, and a dismal quality of life.”
According to its website, California Refugee “aims to be a voice for the many people who have decided to make the move from the over-taxed and over-regulated state of California to the more friendly and prosperous town of Florida.” The group also wants to shed light on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s “overreaching policies” and encourage further migration.
Monday’s press conference is likely to be aimed at amplifying the message of the group, which will be addressed by the Florida Governor and the California ex-pats. The press conference will also be a platform for the group to further criticize Newsom’s policies and advocate their cause ahead of the debate on Fox News’ “Hannity” between DeSantis and the show’s host later that night.
