Families of Israeli hostages march towards Jerusalem demanding action from government

On April 5th, 2021, dozens of people, including family members of Israeli hostages, marched from their homes in the West Bank to Jerusalem demanding that the Israeli government take action to bring home Israel’s captives and missing persons. The families, most of whom had been protesting at the Prime Minister’s Office for over a week, were marching in support of their loved ones and calling for their safe return home. The march comes amid growing concern over the plight of Israeli captives Udi and Eldad Regev, and Hisham al-Sayed, who were kidnapped in 2006, and Avera Mengistu and Juma Ibrahim Abu Ghanima, who went missing in 2014. The demonstrators stopped at the Ofer Military Base where they were greeted by supporters, including members of the IDF, before continuing on to the Prime Minister’s Residence. There, the families held a vigil in which they called for the government to take action and urged fellow Israelis to remember their loved ones.
