Starbucks unveils plan to add 17,000 locations by 2030
Starbucks announced on July 28 its plan to add 17,000 new locations in the U.S. and abroad by 2030, tripling its current store count. The coffee chain plans to prioritize domestic expansion by growing its U.S. presence, which includes a focus on suburban and rural areas. Over the next decade, the company plans to expand in more international markets as well. The company also plans to convert many of its U.S. stores to the next-generation Starbucks Reserve location format. The Starbucks Reserve concept features unique design elements, enhanced retail experiences, the company’s Roastry—the first in-store Starbucks Reserve Roastery, and an augmented reality experience that allows customers to learn more about coffee. Additionally, Starbucks announced its partnership with Uber Eats, which will expand its delivery services to 9,000 stores in the U.S. this fall.
