UAW says it’s expanding strike to include major Ford truck plant in Kentucky
The United Auto Workers union is expanding a nationwide strike to include a major Ford truck plant in Louisville, Kentucky, the union said in a statement on Wednesday. The move follows a nationwide strike that began on Tuesday at General Motors plants across the country. The strike at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant is set to begin at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday. The UAW statement said it was expanding the strike “to protect UAW members and ensure a fair contract for all workers.” The strike at the plant affects about 8,000 workers. The union is seeking better pay and job security, among other demands.
