Breaking: Bitstamp Resumes XRP Trading After Temporary Suspension
Bitstamp, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has resumed XRP trading after a temporary suspension.
The trading platform had disabled XRP on its platform due to the ongoing SEC lawsuit against Ripple, which resulted in a steep price drop for XRP.
In a statement, Bitstamp said it had resumed trading in XRP following an internal review of the asset, and had taken measures to protect customers who had open positions in XRP from possible losses.
The exchange also said it was monitoring the situation closely and would take any new information into account when considering its position regarding XRP trading.
Ripple is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with the SEC over alleged security law violations surrounding its sale of XRP tokens. The price of XRP has plummeted over recent weeks due to the ongoing legal dispute.
