Republican Dave McCormick launches bid for vulnerable Senate seat in battleground state

Republican Dave McCormick has announced his bid to unseat Democratic incumbent Senator Joe Donnelly for a vulnerable Senate seat in the battleground state of Indiana.

McCormick, a veteran of the Marine Corps and the former Under Secretary of the Air Force and current Chairman of the Board of American Momentum, a Dallas-based diversified real estate development and investment firm, plans to make support of President Trump’s agenda a key part of his campaign.

McCormick, a former State Director for the Indiana Department of Transportation (IDOT), has advocated for increased infrastructure spending, and wants to focus on job creation and workforce reform. He is also a vocal critic of the Affordable Care Act and believes it needs to be “repealed and replaced”.

As Chairman of American Momentum, he has stated that he will bring fiscal discipline to Washington and create a pro-growth environment.

McCormick is the sixth person vying for the Republican nomination for the Senate seat in 2020. The primary will take place on May 8th, 2018.
