Harry Potter Stars Clash with Ripple Executive Over London Home Renovation Plans – What’s Going On?
Recent reports have revealed that two of the stars of the Harry Potter films — Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint — are clashing with Ripple executive Arthur Britto over renovation plans for a historic London home owned by the cryptocurrency executive. The two actors have launched a campaign to save the property, known as the Rowan Tree, which was reportedly built during the reign of King Henry VIII.
Ripple has reportedly applied for permission to convert the property into flats and a guest house in order to generate rental income. However, Radcliffe and Grint are leading a public campaign to stop the development and have submitted a petition to protect the property from demolition with more than 41,000 signatures.
The two actors are concerned that the renovation plans mark the start of a “building trend” in the area. According to reports, some of Ripple’s proposals include removing a brickwork chimney stack and effectively “erasing” the building’s history.
Ripple, however, refutes the claims made by Radcliffe and Grint, citing their commitment to preserving the building’s history and character. The company says that it is making every effort to retain the building’s “deep historical associations” and has proposed an extensive restoration program.
Regardless of the outcome, this dispute serves as an example of the disputes between different stakeholders over development projects.
