Top Dem committees are raking in millions more in dark money at this point in time compared to previous cycles

. Dark money has become increasingly popular as a tool to exert influence in elections, with its anonymity making it much harder to trace who is behind the funding. As such, Democrats have been tapping into this money in efforts to win back the US House of Representatives among other chambers of government. While the amount of dark money may not be known precisely, the party committees are seeing a larger amount of it, especially as November approaches. The Democratic National Committee has already collected more dark money than ever before, upwards of $80 million already this cycle — more than double the amount collected in 2018. Similar dramatic increases are being seen by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, poll funds controlled by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and state and local party committees.
