Russia launches cruise missile barrage on Ukraine after long pause
Russia has launched a barrage of cruise missiles aimed at Ukraine, following a long pause in military activity. The missiles were launched from the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, and flew over Ukraine’s Black Sea coast before being intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses. Ukraine has accused Russia of attempting to support separatists in the region, although Moscow maintains that it has no plans to intervene in the conflict. The launch of the missiles comes as tensions between Moscow and Kyiv remain high over the ongoing war in eastern Ukraine.
