Grayscale CEO Claps Back At Jamie Dimon For Saying Bitcoin Should Be Banned

GrayScale CEO Barry Silbert, a major cryptocurrency investor, has fired back at JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon’s recent comments that bitcoin should be banned.

Silbert criticized Dimon’s remarks, pointing out that bitcoin has consistently increased in value over the years as it has been adopted by more people. He also refers to Dimon’s past comments on the cryptocurrency, noting that the JP Morgan CEO’s opinion has swayed back and forth over the years.

Silbert closed his statement by affirming his belief in the long-term potential of bitcoin, and encouraging investors to do their own research. He suggested that JPMorgan clients may be missing out on promising returns by not investing in cryptocurrency:

“It’s disappointing to see yet another large financial institution reject fintech innovation simply because it is unable to control or understand it. Bitcoin and other digital assets have demonstrated real and tangible value over the past several years and long-term investors may be missing out by not considering cryptocurrency investments.”
