Worldcoin to Stop Using USDC for Orb Operator Rewards – Here’s the Latest
It appears that Worldcoin has decided to stop using USDC for its Orb operator rewards.
The decision comes just days after the Worldcoin Foundation announced that they will be launching the Orb Network, a move which will allow users to participate in networked computing, help secure the blockchain, and earn rewards for doing so.
In its blog post, the Foundation said that Orb operator rewards would be paid out in USDC, and that operators could choose to receive their rewards in either Worldcoin or USDC.
However, the Foundation has now decided to stop using USDC for the rewards payments and will instead, allow operators to receive their rewards solely in Worldcoin.
The reason behind the decision is unclear, but the Foundation said they believe it will “result in a more streamlined experience and enable faster payouts for operators.”
It is important to note that this decision does not affect the token sale of Worldcoin, which is still currently ongoing and scheduled to conclude on April 15, 2021.
The change in reward payment will go into effect for all newly-registered Orb operators. For existing operators, the switch will take place immediately after their next scheduled reward payment.
