The arrival of truckloads of aid in Gaza is an important step towards alleviating the human suffering in the region. However, the desperate needs of the people there remain vast. Nearly two million Palestinians living in the narrow strip between Israel and Egypt have been subject to a blockade for over a decade, making it difficult for them to access basic necessities. The international aid that has come in was an attempt to address this issue, but the needs remain vast and it is likely that much more help is necessary to ensure everyone in Gaza is able to live in peace and with greater access resources.
