Pope tells Chinese Catholics to be ‘good citizens’ as he hosts mass in neighboring Mongolia

Pope Francis is encouraging Chinese Catholics to be “good citizens” of their country, during his historic visit to neighboring Mongolia. During the first ever papal Mass in Mongolia, the Pope said that the Chinese faithful “are called to be active members of their society, recognizing the legitimate authorities, cooperating with them and promoting the common good of the country.” He also asked the Chinese Catholics to be ready to meet the demands and challenges of their time, while staying true to their faith and values. The Pope concluded the Mass with words of encouragement, saying that despite difficult times, the Church in China is alive and vibrant.
